Title: Field Service Technician

Reports To: Field Service Manager

 

Job Summary:

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for performing offsite and onsite maintenance/repairs/partial or full installation of wide range of heating and cooling equipment as well as control and automation components. As a Field Service Technician at Comfort Care, you will be responsible for maintaining an extremely high level of customer service and professionalism while installing, repairing, and maintaining their equipment.

Note: Remember we understand nobody has all information and knowhow of the below systems and components. We believe in teamwork and if required we support our technicians with knowhow/training before every single step of your duties.

Job Duties:

Installing, maintaining, repairing, and testing a variety of HVAC equipment, including:

  • Hydronic heating systems components like boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, air separators, unit heaters, convectors, coils, valves, and expansion tanks
  • Air systems components like air handling units, ductwork, rooftop units, heat recovery units, motorized dampers, VAV boxes and fan filter units
  • Geothermal heat pump systems ground loop flow centre, geothermal inverter-based and variable air units test and commissioning
  • Cold climate heat pump systems, multi-zone systems, variable refrigerant flow (VRF/ VRV), heat recovery units, line sets, controls etc.
  • Hydronic cooling systems including chillers, cooling towers, circulating pumps, related test, and commissioning
  • Filtration systems including HEPA, ULPA, Carbon and specialty filters and fan filter units
  • Interacting with our customers and ensuring that their concerns are appropriately addressed in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Responding quickly and efficiently to service calls/maintenance inquiries/Installations.
  • Assessing and completing repairs quickly, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Effectively handling service requests and work orders.
  • Maintaining an orderly and accurate parts inventory in your service truck/van;
  • Training other technicians on preventative maintenance and service procedures.
  • Maintaining relationships with customers by examining concerns, identifying solutions and recommending system improvements.
  • Selling additional services and products by recognizing opportunities to up-sell (will be rewarding)
  • Responding to on-call service emergencies on select evenings and weekends.
  • Some overnight travel (out of GTA) required (pocket money and hotel accommodation per diem provided).

Requirements:

  • Trade school diploma or college diploma required(Gas Technician 2 minimum)
  • Refrigeration license 313A will have a main advantage
  • Mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance License and experience a plus.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions in English orally and in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Knowledge and ability to work on 110v up to and including 600v system and equipment.
  • Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Able to create alternative solutions to problems.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills, with the ability to ask probing questions and understand and resolve customer concerns.
  • Must be smartphone and tablet literate, with the ability to learn and navigate new software quickly.
  • Must be able to independently apply Comfort Care’s processes, procedures and uphold rigorous standards without constant management.
  • Any second language an asset.
