Iroquois Park Sport Centre, New AHU and Chilled Water System, Whitby, 2022
Comfort Care Inc. delivered a comprehensive HVAC upgrade at Iroquois Park Sports Centre, in Town of Whitby including the installation of a new rooftop air handling unit (AHU) with a chilled water coil and replacement of critical components such as chilled water pumps and heat exchangers. A secondary glycol loop was installed to support the new AHU, ensuring efficient operation and integration with the existing chilled water plant. Over 1500 pipelines for chilled glycol solution was installed from the Community Centre Compressor Room to the newly installed Air handling Unit beside the main ice rink building.
The project also included BAS integration, power and control connections, ductwork modifications, insulation, testing and balancing, system start-up, and operator training. All work was executed with careful phasing to minimize disruption to facility operations, providing a smooth transition to the upgraded system. The result is a modern, energy-efficient HVAC system that enhances comfort, reliability, and performance throughout the sports centre.
