U Health Medical Complex, Scarborough, HVAC and Submetering, 2017
Comfort Care Inc. served as the mechanical subcontractor for the complete renovation and conversion of an existing commercial office building into a modern healthcare facility with associated retail spaces. Our scope included the design and installation of comprehensive HVAC and plumbing systems to meet the demanding requirements of the new occupancy type.
The work involved the installation of new air handling units, six VRF systems, fan coil units, entrance heaters, and exhaust fans, along with all related ductwork, refrigeration piping, and controls. We also implemented a tenant sub-metering system and integrated automated controls for efficient operation and monitoring.
On the plumbing side, our team installed new drainage and vent piping, plumbing fixtures, backflow preventers, and other essential components to support healthcare-grade performance and reliability. The project concluded with comprehensive testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) to ensure optimal comfort and system efficiency.
This renovation transformed the aging building into a fully functional, energy-efficient, and compliant healthcare facility, delivered with the quality and precision expected from Comfort Care Inc.
